D&R Studios is a leading Kenyan entertainment and media production company, responsible for some of the country’s most popular shows across film, television, and streaming platforms. Working in this space required balancing creativity, strategic messaging, and audience engagement, while navigating the fast-paced realities of media production.

Public Relations 

In my role, I led public relations campaigns ahead of show releases for clients including Showmax and Maisha Magic, ensuring that messaging was both compelling and data-informed. One of these campaigns achieved over four million impressions and trended for three consecutive days, demonstrating the power of targeted communications and integrated media strategies. Each PR plan was designed as a holistic communications architecture, including key messaging, digital amplification, media relations, sponsorship considerations, budgets, and projected outcomes. 

Media and influencer relations were carefully cultivated, with press packs, event coordination, and outreach strategies designed to amplify coverage, engagement, and awareness. Every element of the work — from messaging to campaign measurement, from content production to brand identity — was approached with a combination of strategic foresight, creative sensibility, and operational precision, ensuring that D&R Studios not only delivered entertainment but did so with impact, visibility, and credibility.

Marketing & Crisis Communications

Collaboration was central to execution. I worked closely with creative teams, designers, and producers to ensure trailers, promotional content, posters, and adverts were released on time and resonated with audiences. This meant shaping content that balanced artistic appeal with audience engagement and commercial objectives. I also managed crisis communications, ensuring that reputational risks were addressed swiftly and strategically, maintaining trust with both audiences and partners.

Rebranding

 Rebranding and digital presence were also part of my mandate. I spearheaded a total rebranding initiative for the studio, giving it a refreshed visual identity and coordinating the design and launch of the D&R Studios website. This effort strengthened the studio’s market positioning, aligned digital presence with its new strategic direction, and amplified its visibility in a competitive entertainment landscape.
