Context
DREAM EP Global Energy delivers renewable energy solutions to remote and off-grid communities across Kenya, including regions such as Remba Island where reliable electricity access had historically been absent. The organisation operates at the intersection of energy, healthcare, and community development, requiring communications that connect technical solutions to lived realities.
The Work
In my role, I developed and implemented the organisation’s
marketing communications strategy across both digital and offline channels,
translating complex technical energy solutions into accessible narratives for
clients, donors, and communities. I produced multimedia content, including
photography, videography, newsletters, and web content, while designing
branding materials that strengthened DREAM’s visibility and positioned the
organisation as both innovative and community-centered.
Digital Assets
I oversaw the development and management of the DREAM website, ensuring that digital systems aligned with operational workflows, supported customer engagement, and provided real-time reporting for high-volume inquiries. In parallel, I worked closely with field teams, engineers, and county agents to ensure smooth customer support across diverse product lines, from mini-grids to portable systems, integrating technical knowledge into clear communications for users.
Marketing, Campaigns & Sales
Part of the role also involved proposal writing, tender documentation, and B2B communications, bridging engineering solutions with donor and investor priorities. Campaigns were crafted to promote renewable energy uptake while connecting broader impacts, including improved healthcare access and women’s empowerment, to tangible energy solutions.
Conclusion
Through these efforts, DREAM’s communications and marketing
were not simply promotional, but instrumental in translating technical
innovation into community empowerment, donor engagement, and strategic impact.
