Context
At Royal Media Services, one of Kenya’s leading media houses, I worked at the frontline of broadcast journalism, covering political, entertainment, and live production assignments. Every day required precision, adaptability, and the ability to translate unfolding events into compelling narratives for national audiences.
Work
I collected daily news footage, both prerecorded and live, covering high-level assignments including parliamentary proceedings, State House briefings, and political press conferences. On set, I worked closely with producers, designers, and technical teams to facilitate live studio productions and shows such as One Love and 10 Over 10, ensuring content was engaging, accurate, and delivered seamlessly.
Post-production was equally critical. I assembled raw footage, edited sequences, managed audio, and delivered final products under strict time and budget constraints. This experience taught me to balance speed with storytelling clarity, and to construct narratives that were both informative and captivating. The role strengthened my skills in visual communication, content curation, and real-time production, forming the foundation for my later work in strategic communications, campaign development, and multimedia storytelling.
